Syringa vulgaris or old fashion lilac bears large fragrant blossoms in May. Perhaps the most popular of all lilacs due to its rich color ranging from purplish red to lilac and purple. Extremely fragrant with a broad, rounded habit. Native to southeastern Europe. It is a moderate growing shrub with attractive dark green foilage. It is great for hedges, or screens, and can also be planted as a specimen plant. Common Lilac grows up to 20 feet in height and 6 to 12 feet in spread. They may take up a large space with time. Old fashion lilac has moderate water requirements, and a moderatesalt & alkali tolerance. Shipped bareroot and priced in lots of 25, 50, 100+ seedlings.
