NEW! Cornus kousa, kousa dogwood or japanese flowering dogwood is a handsome small specimen tree or shrub. The Kousa is not as susceptible to disease as the white dogwood in spring. It is planted as a specimen, near a patio, or in groupings. Blooms later in June with a softer petal flower than the white flowering dogwood. Because of its disease resistance, it is becoming the best replacement for the white dogwood. It is becomes a slow grower it ages being a moderate grower in the early stages.
Kousa Dogwood has low water requirements and displays a moderate tolerance for salt and alkali soils. Planted best in groupings with spacing of 10 to 20 feet apart.
Field Grown, 2 to 3 foot Branched Huskies. These trees are transplanted and field-grown for 2 years and not to be confused with 1 year seedlings from other companies.
