Panicum virgatum 'Heavy Metal' - We are extremely fortunate to be able to offer this well known Panicum through Greenwood this season. Some of the taller Switch grasses can become floppy, but 'Heavy Metal' is shorter (40 to 50”) and the foliage is very upright with strong blades. It’s striking metallic lavender-blue leaves form large upright clumps with waxy pinkish-white flowers that form 12-16 inches above the foliage from late July or Aug until frost. Heavy Metal’s blades turn bright yellow in the fall and the seed heads change to maroon. I have decided that to place a few on our property for borders and anywhere just the right touch of blue is needed. Absolutely love the textures. I have a few benches around the patio that these will work well with. Our Grasses are shipped in ONE-GALLON containers, full root system, ready to plant, and start growing. Not to be confused with divisions, or field grown liners. Offers: 1, and 3 plants per offer.
