Norway Spruce is one of the fastest growing of all the spruces. As the tree grows older, the side branches become horizontal, turning upward at the tip. Secondary branches hang downward from the main branches, giving the tree a graceful appearance.

One of the best conifers for shelters and windbreaks, as its branches grow densely into one another. For planting a windbreak, these trees should be planted 6 ft. apart. Branches droop gracefully as tree matures, making this a very attractive ornamental.

Our husky transplants make the planting job easy. A transplant is a seedling that has been lifted from one nursery bed and transplanted to another. The transplanted seedling is planted at wider spacing allowing more growing space. Compared to a seedling, a transplant has a more fibrous root system and larger stem diameter. The increased size of transplants gives them an advantage over seedlings, especially on marginal sites.

Transplants are hardier, huskier, and more all-around balanced plants. When planted in your landscape, the transplant has a greater chance of survival since it has already survived the shock of being transplanted once at the nursery.

NEW! Featuring - Our "Supersize" Norway Spruce transplants are the biggest and the best. Selected from our four year Norway Spruce transplant beds. Only one tree out of a hundred will make the cut, selected for their root mass, symmetrical shape, full branching, and straight central leader.

SUPERSIZE - Sold as transplants in groups of 5, and 10 transplants per order.
