Select accent plants for the landscape that will add interest to your landscaping and gardening plans. Accent plants often work in contrast with their environment to catch your attention. For small gardens only one accent plant may be needed. For large gardens and landscapes, two or more accent plants for the garden may be used at opposite ends of the landscape.
As in the photo above the maple Japanese red is an accent plant at the front entrance. The striking red color becomes the landscape focal point of this front landscape creating excellent curb appeal.
